PM-u-like

The country's got election fever, isn't it exciting. To celebrate the upcoming polling, here are the first two in my series of Prime-Ministers-in-my-lifetime-i-cons. If you don't recognise the second one, don't worry: it's very common. That's Ron Badger or something. Apparently he was the Prime Minister once, but he did something unsavoury involving curry and has since been largely forgotten by the electorate.

A man of the people. The right sort of people.

Inspired by mydavidcameron.com, I've been doctoring Camerons this week.

Or "Have you ever seen a grown man naked?"

"I grew up on an estate too", "I can't go on with wisteria like this", "Assume the brace position" and "Toffs R Us" - slogans by Amanda Kirke via Facebook.

"If this election campaign hots up I will probably melt" - slogan by @robinbogg via Twitter.

=On Armistice Day=

"Wear your poppy with pride," I'm told,
"Wear your poppy with pride.
Wear it for those who have fallen
For those who have suffered, and died."

Limbs that were bloodied and broken
Hearts left deserted and cold
Youth that was shattered and wasted
Boys who could never grow old

Families whose homes were left empty
Their loved ones for cenotaph wreaths
Children caught up in the crossfire
Lives of despair and of grief

Battlefields peppered with corpses
That once were our people, now lost
I'll remember each person who fought there
But still more, I'll remember the cost

For the sake of the lives that were taken
For the sake of those who have died
I'll feel anger, and sadness, and horror
But I'll never, no, never, feel pride.
